I thought it was a great win. Miles did a very good job of containing the damage, and correcting it.

I think the 2 most focused and motivated teams that played this weekend, based on what I saw, were A&M and Wisconsin. Both were good teams that were being (or perceived they were) majorly disrespected, had no chance, etc, despite having proven systems. A&M had the "no more JFF" factor, Wisconsin had the "Big 10 can't touch the SEC" factor. Both teams came out to prove a point.

South Carolina got punched in the mouth hard, and Steve Spurrier couldn't turn it around.

LSU got punched in the mouth hard too, but Les Miles was able to get his team refocused. They sucked it all up and fought hard enough to overcome the hole they were in, and won.

Carolina was ranked higher than we were, Wisconsin was ranked higher than A&M was. But I guarantee had Spurrier been able to rally his team to victory, he would be hailed as a great coach, and A&M would be given props for playing lights-out, despite having big holes in their defense. Here, Les did rally the team, but he's a dumbass who holds the players back, and Wisconsin was an overrated team who shouldn't be ranked because they can't pass.

Not gonna dis miles....but the first half was an abortion....you pumpers can spin that anyway you want....it doesn't change the fact. Still some issues with clock management....I know first game and all but Wisconsin didn't seem to suffer with those problems.
Second half....great! Coaches made adjustments....players executed....good job!
I just hope we're not gonna get behind like this a lot because we will run into SEC teams that aren't gonna leave the door open like Wisky did. In general our offense is not designed to make big comebacks like we did. Kudos to JD/TD for going beast mode. Theyre going to b great ones before they're done.
We were vulnerable in the middle where we thought but made strides in the 2nd half.
I'll take the win anyway we can get it. But you SPs who think we're not going to continue to see these type of games as long as miles is coach are kidding yourselves. This is how CLM wins....this is what he does and who he is.
I don't particularly like it but I've learned to expect/accept it.

Now that my friend is some quality droppings. Best post in this thread and POY nominee

He has been, and remains, a polarizing HC. He's a very good recruiter, but not an equally good HC, especially on game day. What we saw last night is a prelude to what LSU football is going to be for the remainder of his tenure.

And to whoever posted this, and all the Madden Hall of Famers sucking him off about being "spot on", explain to me how is it that Miles is "a very good recruiter, but not an equally good HC, especially on game day", but he just so happens to be the ONLY COACH IN THE ENTIRE COUNTRY to have a winning record in games in which his team trailed in the 4th quarter. THE ONLY ONE. ANYWHERE.

I'm sure your brigade will spew some limp wristed hypothetical with no facts to back it up like "Well a really good HC wouldn't be trailing in those games to begin with" blah blah blah.

Miles is an exceptional game day coach and HIS RECORD PROVES IT. Not only has he won more games than ANY OTHER COACH since coming to LSU, but he has consistently shown over almost a decade the ability to rally his team when the game is on the line, to identify the things that aren't working and exploit weaknesses in the opposition to achieve victory when defeat seems imminent. And he has done so more than ANY OTHER COACH. PERIOD.

That my friend, is one of the clearest marks of an elite head coach that I have ever seen at any level.

Does he go into every game with the exact perfect game plan? No. But show me a single one Iin the history of sport that does??? Last night was one of those times when the plan didn't play out the it was drawn up.

But he fricking fixed it on the fly, and did it in a huge fricking hole with all the momentum stacked against him and his players. Again, THAT IS WHAT GREAT COACHES DO, and what Miles does better than ANYONE.

If you and your ilk can't see that, then you are truly blind.
