I can see a few things changing, mostly on the PS(where I listed a few alternates in parentheses).

I think Griffin basically forced us into keeping 3 QBs with a poor showing the last 2 weeks. McCown has been the #2 guys in practice and in the games and while not great has looked more solid and consistent than Griffin.

That has a trickle down effect in forcing us to keep one less LB, but that blow is softened by the fact that most of our safeties can also play in the box.

I went with Edebali over Powell because Edebali has shown a little more and Powell looks like he is still missing some of his assignments.

It was a toss up between Jones and Kelemete for the last OLine spot. I think Jones has the edge because of his versatility(can also play tackle). But if Kelemete stays instead Jones will go on the PS.

Deaderick stays to give us another big body, but I could actually see Virgil sneaking in. If that happens it opens up a PS spot for Davis or another CB(or a Dlineman from another team).

Warren vs. Ball was the hardest decision and it could honestly go either way. With Ball being nicked up I think we may try to sneak him on the the PS to heal. If he was healthy I would put him in over Warren because of special teams(and that may still happen).

Neither Coleman nor Jones impressed me and I could see us going with just one WR instead, but I think the Saints like their size so one may stick with a slight advantage going to Coleman.

The OT PS spot is going to be filled by someone who clearly isn't ready. I'm giving the edge to Rooks because they saw something in him they liked enough to draft him for, but honestly this could just as easily be filled by an outside guy. If Jones is put on the PS we may only keep one Olineman which opens up a spot for someone else.

I'm not going to totally rule out Wade for a PS spot because the coaches like him, but Brooks has been the most solid and consistent backup CB throughout preseason and he was being raved about last year before getting hurt. Dixon has shown some flashes so he is definitely in the mix(and in front of Wade imo).

And on the kicker battle, it can honestly go either way. It was too close to call all offseason and for some reason I think Payton will go with the vet.

I think there is 0 chance they IR Lorig without the Designated To Return put on him.

A few observations:

This roster is too thin on the left side of the OL. Who on this roster has the experience and ability to move to the left side, if one of those guys goes down?

I don't think we keep 3 NTs.

There's a great chance we keep 6 Safeties because of RRyans defensive schemes(Ball should make the cut).

I hope we don't keep 3 QBs (but you're probably right that we will). Griffin is not the future and isn't worth a roster spot. Cut him and hope he clears the waiver. If he doesn't, so be it.

Why would they waste it on him?

That'd be pretty horrible decision imo.

I expect we save it or put stills on it.

Dimke fully believes he's going to make this roster. He said he's excited about today and has no worries

Can Ball be placed on the practice squad? He was in the CFL, not straight out of college. I don't know, but I thought there was some sort of limitations based on professional experience... CFL ain't the NFL, but it IS professional.

Kicker aside because it looks like we'll bring one back(or bring in a new one) next Tuesday when I assume we'll be putting Lorig on IR- Designated to Return, only 2 real surprises to me(with 1 mild "surprise" also).

The first is cutting Bailey and keeping Dixon. I knew Dixon was coming on but I thought he would wind up fighting with Brooks for the PS spot, not taking Bailey's spot on the 53. I guess Bailey as a 4th corner who doesn't play special teams wasn't going to fly.

The other is not keeping 6 WRs, which I guess could mean Stills isn't that hurt after all.

Dawson getting cut is a mild surprise but I understand it from a getting youthful at LB perspective.

The numbers were mostly correct. I had 1 more WR and 1 less OLB(assuming Lorig gets IRed and we do actually sign a kicker).

The guys I had that are gone are:

Meachem- 1 less WR, though I would have thought Meachem over Toon. Youth wins out and Morgan took Meach's role.

Marcel Jones- Not surprised they went with Kelemete over him though.

Dawson- They went with youth in Powell and Fortt.

Bailey- Explained above.

Warren- Not surprised at all to see Ball here and I figured if healthy Ball would make over Warren for special teams.

They guys I don't have are:

Kelemete

Powell

Fortt

Dixon

Ball

Still waiting to see about kicker.
