I'd be most pleased with top 6 decided by BCS.

I don't like the 6 team format. It doesn't shorten the season, so why not go to 8 teams. Give the top 2 teams regional home field advantage (have LSU play in NO, if a high seed), against a lower seed.

If you do this, you don't need this

16 team playoff.

The inherent bitching about the system and complaining to change it and add more teams is right on par with out society, and it's nauseating.

We had something that worked almost every year....so we changed it. Now, people are bitching about what they asked for.

Shows how wrong they can be before any games are played.

This one game proves nothing. And if SC loses another game this season then they almost definitely aren't the best team in the NCAA. Unless all tge other teams lose 2+.

You're complaining about a playoff after the first game of the first weekend of the season. Don't you see how dumb that is. You don't even know if it works yet.

I would never watch another regular season cfb game again I don't think. Why not just go to a 128 team playoff?

We had 2 teams from the sec west play for a national championship so there is a chance 2 would be selected for the playoffs

Eliminate bowl games.

I can get on board with that. With neutral site openers, are the bowl games even necessary anymore.

6-8 team playoff. All games played at home college stadiums, with the exception of chanpionship game.

You heard them hype this game? They vote on polls? The panel selecting the 4 that is.

Thought all along the 4 team playoff is a teaser to going to an 8 team playoff that is optimal. Take the 5 big conference champs and 3 at large chosen by the committee.

Give me a year that a 5th team had a legitimate claim to play for a national championship from anytime since college football started playing at least 11 regular season games. I can't think of one where a 4th team had a legit gripe for being left out. So, as it is now, there's a strong likelihood that there will be at least one team that really isn't deserving getting a chance to play for the title. 4 teams is more than enough, IMO.

Probably so, that's what happens when you get blown out in your own stadium.

So a South Carolina team that loses 2 of its first say 5 games isn't going to be the National Champion. Why, in any stretch of the imagination, would you think they should be in the conversation....ever, if they drop 2 games early.

Sounds to me like if you want to be the best in the nation, you need to be best in your division at least.

Seems this playoff has some all a tizzy. It is a stupid arse system with a stupid arse committee, but South Carolina losing has ZERO to do with it.

Do we just want to implode Tiger Stadium, I mean shite we got NO, Houston, and Dallas. We could just rotate.

Frankly I'm not interested in college football becoming NFL-Lite.

Why would you be upset about South Carolina's NC hopes being done? It is great that every game counts.

If losing 52-28 to a team that is unproven doesn't knock you out of national championship contention, then we have a terrible system.

Agreed. And it doesn't even knock them out yet. If they run the table they are in.

I heard an argument last night that I liked about it only being 4 teams. It was that College Football is the last regular season that actually matters and I like that.

Think of the regular season conference games as a tournament because they really are. There is no need to have two teams from a conference much less two teams from a division. With the limited number of games compared to the pool of teams conference champions/regular season should be good enough to eliminate the peers in their conference.

Oh, so we should not worry about putting the best 4 teams in the playoffs. We should worry about being fair to every conference and make sure everyone gets a team in so that everyone can be happy. What the frick?

Last year LSU beat Auburn 35-21 and we could have easily dropped 45 on that team had we not hit the brakes and our fans left for vacation at halftime.

Last night should be a factor into the equation like every other game for every other team, but should only be the factor when deciding the four team playoff when all other things are equal.

The fact that the system does not have a clear cut standard and the teams are totally at the discretion of a committee is an absolute joke. It's exactly why playoffs are stupid in college football.
