You are joking, right?

Well, enjoy missing the playoffs while Kobe tries to stroke his ego instead of being a team player
If your star player stops shooting or being aggressive, you have that team magically being great?

Seriously asking? I thought that was obvious.

Maybe. But if Kobe throws up 0-30, they definitely won't be.

You let me know when they start keeping track of those so that your comparison holds water.
They actually do track the percentage of rebounds players get that are within either 3 or 5 feet of them off the boards, so that's in the vicinity.

Somehow I'm not surprised unknown didn't know that. His user name can be very fitting.

Again, the point is being completely missed and you're playing the result.

In the moment, with each passing shot, you don't know if they're going in or no, and if you're a great player(Kobe qualifies as that), you should keep taking the shots.

I asked for a stat. You never provided one. That makes me crawfishing how exactly?

You really think people are going to buy you knew about this stat?

Let it go and just hope people forget about this thread.

Did I claim to? I was the one originally asking.

Then I misread your response to Shel. You made it sound like you weren't seriously asking for the stat.

I assumed he was saying that in response to me questions how someone attempts a rebound.

I don't see where I'm missing his point. We are talking about the same thing

Lets say somehow Nick Young and Kobe Bryant are 0-0 shooting for the night somehow. It's late in a close game. Who do you want taking the shots?

Now let's say Kobe is 0 for 30 in the same situation. You still want Kobe taking the shots because none of the his previous shots affect his next shot as long as you don't let it get in your head. Kobe is still the better player than Young.

I don't see any issue with what Kobe said, I'd agree.

In the playoffs you want him chucking when he's clearly not on his game? Or do you want him to make the best basketball play?

I can appreciate the competitiveness but there comes a time where it becomes selfish and renders the player a detriment to the team.

If he's getting open looks, the best basketball play is to have him shoot. If he's shooting fade away threes and other shitty shots, that's clearly not the best basketball play.
