Sometimes you gotta understand it's not your night, and get your teammates more involved.

Quantify an attempted rebound and shut me up. I'll wait.

Keep asking for it, you're embarrassing yourself.

Because there is "no stat", no player ever fails to retrieve a rebound...

ESPN was talking about this the other day talking about how awesome it was that he said that..

Are you fricking retarded??

That's the most selfish thing a player can do. It's different going 0-5 and keep trying and then finish 0-9 then someone going 0-20 and STILL frickING SHOOTING and end at 0-30. That's turrible

You don't see a problem with a guy shooting again after he's already missed 29 shots in a game?
No.

Doesn't matter. Kobe still has the same chance of making that 30th shot, and he's been pretty darn good in his career, so I'd want him taking that 30th shot as well.

It's a terrible point. He'd rather keep shooting and hurting his team because he's Kobe frickin Bryant. Nothing admirable about that.
No, he'd rather take and make the next shot.

YOu're missing the point that when you take the shot, no one actually knows if it's going in or not, you're playing the result you have.

It's just a missed possession opportunity that's all...

But thanks for conceding it's possible to jump in the air trying to grab a ball but fail because someone else grabs it before you.

You let me know when they start keeping track of those so that your comparison holds water.

Not at all what he's saying. He'd rather look back at his stats and see 0-30 than 0-9 is what he's saying. Because it means he continued to be aggressive. When you're as good as Kobe Bryant is/was then you should always be aggressive
Preach.

And Kobe should always be aggressive, always. Like Louie said, the issue is Kobe taking bad shots, but he should always be aggressive in trying to at least get looks and taking them, that's a no brainer IMO.

His whole point is that he's not going to let himself get taken out of the game mentally because he had a rough start.

Some of you guys are taking this way too literally.
Understatement of the day.

Kobe was using a STAT as a visible basis for making the point that a player should never quit on himself and by extension his team.

Never quit on yourself. Winning takes confidence that you WILL overcome.
I agree with UnknownKnight...now I'm contemplating changing my opinion here!!!
