Do I make an appointment with an oral surgeon to remove it, or go to the dentist first?

I've got the same problem. Mine is on the top, so the dentist said they'll have to pull it since it would be hard to get to.

I would go to the dentist first and then get a referral to oral surgeon if he can't do it.
Or if you like spending money, go to the oral surgeon first.

I thought most oral surgeons only take you on referral. Might be wrong.

Yup. If you can see the crown 9 times out of 10 they come out with little to no trouble. Love a fused conical root.
