OK, Fox is sort of south midtown
Vortex-Sit outside or be prepared that they allow smoking there.
Shout-a bar/restaurant at Colony Square. I have never eaten in the restaurant but the upstairs outside bar area is nice.
Taco Mac-a local chain with a huge selection of draft beer and good wings.
Varsity-if you've never been it's worth going. Not for the food, but just to go and grab a dog and a big FO.
Mary Macs Tea Room-good southern cooking on Ponce
