Had to read Watership Down in 8th grade at Jesuit. Remember enjoying the book. Don't recall caring for other stuff I read in high school.

Most high schoolers abhor reading. Read the classics later in life and you will enjoy them much more.

Great thread.

Favorite: Most have already been mentioned but I'll throw in Bel Canto in the mix. Also, I had to read Band of Brothers which was a treat.

Least Favorite: The Awakening. I just remember it wreaked of feminism which didn't really resonate with a class of all boys in high school.

I had to read Ismael for religious studies and liked it, too. Another one I enjoyed from high school was Rebecca.

2) The Sound and the Fury (my favorite novel)- as many of you know, Faulkner is my hero. He is the greatest artist the south has ever produced.

He's ok.

Man that book bored me like no other. I know that some bad shite happened....but the same bad shite happened on every page it felt like. Was a long time ago though.....maybe if I read it now.....but I won't.

Devil in the White City was very interesting. Favorite college book (only read 3 or so).

Animal Farm or Anthem in HS.
