I had problems. Took an hour or so but I got it straight and played through with no issues.
Sure I had to work on it. Good part is, I could actually play it. Next-gen....not so much.

I thought I fixed it at one point. It started running great for a couple of hours, then it crashed again. I wish 2k would update it but I get that it's not worth their time.

I've had problems with 2 games. Fallout 3 and Bioshock.
Both were easily solved with teh Google.

Truth. When I played a pirated version, it run fine. But one day I grabbed both 1 and 2 for $5 on Steam, and the steam version of 1 didn't run. There's some instructions somewhere online to get it working, but I never bothered.
But it's literally the only game that didn't work right out of the box for me.
Even the shitty ports (Ubisoft games on release day) aren't unplayable. They're just typically unoptimized for high-end hardware, so it ends up frustrating for people with high-end hardware who can't increase the eyecandy a much as they think they should. PC players don't like it when we sometimes have to run things less than 60 fps either.

It depends on your viewing distance too
