I haven't looked at your profile and I don't know where you live, but you crossed my mind. I'm glad you're ok.

Careful...people are going to start talking about us.

Thanks,I use to travel frequently to the bay area for my gig, but haven't been in a year or so. But I have plenty of friends who got all shook up this morning there. I appreciate you thinking of me.

Special ops is how we should've handled 911. Not some full blown conventional war.

This.

Send the most badass SEALs and Delta Operatives we have into Afghanistan, smoke OBL out of whatever hole he's in and kill him. The end.

What do you think happened in the fall of 2001 exactly...?

Damn.

What should we have done then with spec ops after 9/11?

I don't want to Monday morning quarterback. The SF guys worked miracles with the Northern Alliance. We had him at Torah Bora. The Delta guys knew where he was. They got into a bad spot and the commander decided to turn around and save his men instead of pressing the attack and killing bin Laden. It was an impossible decision, but in hindsight he should have sacrificed his men and accomplished the mission. Maybe would have saved thousands of American and Afghan lives over the following years.

Wouldn't this mean boots on the ground? Didn't Obama said that wouldn't happen.

Boots have been on the ground. Those bombs don't call themselves in.

I hope they've figured out how to deal with the shepherds and their goats.

Goats aren't out roaming at night when these raids are going to go down (JSOC in IRQ style).

I know that's a reference to Lone Survivor but this won't be teams on a walk about looking for someone in a village. This will be extremely surgical raids developed by drone/signals/human intelligence

I also read a book about a team of British special forces in the 1st gulf war and they were tasked with locating scud missile launchers. The did their real work at night and holed up during the day. Lo and behold, what happens, a herd of goats and a shepherd boy wander up on their hiding place and it winds up with them running from the Iraqi army and getting caught.

When I saw Lone Survivor I just thought to myself, not again.

I vote for completely black ops. No cameras, no media, no embedded journalists. Take off the gloves and bury their arse. If they want a fight, by God give them one.

How is a politician going to take credit for this, then?

Agreed AM. They are too stupid to see what a political homerun this would be.

That will be a bad-assed unit...IF they are allowed to take the gloves off, and are given proper support.

Throw in an Israeli arm, and if I were a ISIS high-up...I'd be putting in my Allah-request for virgin particulars.

Turn the dogs loose!

And who would profit from it?
