The only potential issue with a brokerage account over a non deductible IRA is that long-term capital gains taxes could continue to rise to a point that they are a disadvantage over the income tax structure on the IRA distributions.

Thanks for responding.

If that is the only potential negative, I think the positives of ability to withdraw early and tax diversification as 401k is income and index ETF is capital gains makes the ETF the better plan for me.

I sort of agree with this.

O dont think they raid 401's but i do think a hefty tax on all passive income could happen
