Anyone else secretly believe Darrel Williams could be as good or better than LF?

I think Williams was tremendously underrated coming out of HS putting up amazing numbers despite a poor offensive line at John Ehret. While Fournette has more downhill power and top-end speed, Williams has more quickness (burst speed) and has shiftier footwork.

Also, while Fournette was amazing to watch in HS, his upright running style worries me somewhat at the college level in terms of durability (we've already seen him have some issues with this in camp) and potential turnovers. There's also the unfortunate fact that thoroughly hyped 5-star skill players underperform relative to expectations far more often than not.

All in all, I think these two could come together to form the best RB duo we've ever had at LSU. And while Fournette may be the more dangerous player when he's on the field at any given time, I think we may see more overall production out of Williams.

D Williams is going to be a tough runner for us but athletically LF wins and it's not close.

I don't think he'll be better, but he'll be damn good. You don't go for that many yards and TDs on accident.

He's very good but I don't think he or anyone is on Fournettes level.. Just basing off of the film I've seen. Darrel is very shifty side to side quickness for his size though. I think he can grow into more power.

I have my concerns about LF too, but is this statement common knowledge?

Mr. Williams, I also think Darrel will be a very good back. But.....damn...you suspect.

I'm confident LF will live up to his hype, but anything is possible. Are you old enough to remember all of the hype surrounding the nations best running back recruit coming in who was gonna shatter all of Charles Alexander's records in 1982? Another true freshman that year, who was much less heralded, stole the show. Hypothetically, a very similar situation.

Williams is the type of great running back that LSU recruits. LF is a once in a generation player.

Haha same shite said about AP and Marcus Allen.

It worries me too. He has a lot to do before earning comparison to those two.

He's really good, but imo, he doesn't have the top end speed, that LF has, nor do I think he can make people miss, like LF can. Having said that, he and LF are going to be a nightmare for teams, in the future

I'm still puzzled how they initially offered Sione ahead of him. Style wise, it didn't make any sense. I have to wonder if LSU gave Sione a hint that ended up with him going to Stillwater.
