Turning my powered PA speakers into wireless

I'd like to get rid of a ton of wires for my speakers. Looking for opinions on some quality bluetooth receivers. I'd like to be able to use this at our tailgate and backyard for parties.

1) What inputs do the speakers have?
2) you suggest you want them to be tailgate-compatible. Is battery-powered (and rechargeable vs non) or plugged in more advantageous?
3) you say speakers and that you want to free up some wires. How many speakers? How many concurrent connections would you require?
