In his interviews, he's said he's a lifelong fan and has dreamed of playing for Notre Dame for his whole life.
I've been one of those "not regulars" saying he's absolutely going to Notre Dame unless something major changes, and it looks like the cheating scandal is major enough for him to reconsider.
It probably doesn't help that there's quite a few guys in his ear pumping us up and shitting on ND. I hope we manage to land him now. I'm sure Les & co are selling hard on our academic facilities and opportunities and the lack of a major academic scandal here for many years.

I'm not sure how much the scandal has an effect on his decision. To me, he's re-thinking playing close to home near his family and they seem to be on board for that. Grimes seems to be a huge factor in this as well. If our OL plays as well as we hope this season, I think the flip is on.
