Fear of flying is simply fear of dying masked as an airplane. Get right with your Higher Power the fear goes away.

Wear head phones and don't sit next to the engine or you will freak out when pilot controls throttle

If you're in any way paranoid, which sounds like you are, eat a zanex and drink a couple beers. Then you really could care less if it goes down.

Safe travels

I hate flying, but I have to do it at least once every 2 weeks and I'm certainly not frightened of it. If I don't have immediate business to take care of, I tend to drink pretty heavily at the airport and on the plane.

Honestly, the worst part of the flight is dealing with the TSA. I loathe the screening process. The flight itself isn't bad, and takeoff itself is really the only remotely exciting part of the flight. There's nothing to be scared of. When a flight crashes, you hear of it, and there are thousands a day. Just stop giving a shite, and get drunk if possible.

Your loss dude. They're great for people watching and the the really nice ones are must experience. I can't wait to try out the new terminal they'll be building at MSY.

Yeah, while I loathe the TSA, I absolutely love airports, particularly the bars. You'll run into so many different types of fricked up people you'll never see again and hear so many great stories. I love airport bars for the people.

I started flying in the '60s and thank goodness I don't have to fly today. It's a pain in the arse.

Both from the preflight experience, eg, getting through security, to the actual flight experience.

Ever rode in a cab, limo, or any other time you were a passenger? This line of reasoning is complete and total bullshite.

No.

That said, my mind always goes to crashing and never seeing my family again.

There is a reason to: see the world. It's just crazy to me that people who can afford it don't fly to get to places. I assume you haven't left the South.

That's because you're used to getting fricked over by them. Go abroad, and it's nothing in comparrison. Even in socialist dictatorships, they treat you better than the TSA does in this country. It's fricking ridiculous how many of our so-called rights we've surrendered to these clowns, when every single country in the world has a better security set-up than we do here. Few things piss me off more than the TSA and how they treat everyone like degenerate animals.

I've never had an issue with TSA. But, I have had friends and family members who have had a hell of a time with them.

I'm afraid of flying coach.

Don't fly first class unless you can fly it a lot, you will get spoiled.
