<---------- Was sober for 9 years once and decided it was safe to go back. I figured that I'd steer clear of Dewars on the rocks and drank Absolut on the rocks. It didn't work out well. I'm going on 19 years this time around. Hopefully, I've learned my lesson. I don't have compulsions but I do have "notions".
My best to all who decide that they are better off without alcohol. I only speak for myself, but I definitely am better off without it.

I'm definitely better without it. Much calmer and happier and even-keeled. I still wonder if I can drink some. I know I can't right now though

I agree. We have had a number of in depth conversations by email.
We are both shocked that we ever signed up for a dating site. In both of our cases, friends talked us into it. It could work out well.

Good for you. I honestly don't know. I was never a drinker. I was actually usually the dd. But about two years ago I started drinking a lot. It wasn't long after I was diagnosed as bipolar, so that may have something to do with it

I feel like my life is better because I am an alcoholic. Everything happened exactly the way it should have for me. I can't imagine that I'd have ever been this happy if I didn't have to walk this road.
