Lou Gehrig's Disease isn't universally known outside the US.
Stephen Hawking is probably a better example of ALS today, but media is just going with the correct name "ALS".

We can call it Steve Gleason's disease in Louisiana.
Apparently he made a video about it as well. I haven't watched many of these icebucket challenge videos but this one made the room a little dusty. Really, anything to do with Steve Gleason seems to make things dusty for some reason.
