A One Percenter calling out all of his buddies.

Come on Kareem don't you see the hypocrisy in this?

I guess not.

I think they already are organized and a key wing of the Democrat Party.

Now they have a large voice; however, they have no where else to go as the Dems in the leadership take advantage of their numbers and mislead them to accept big brother as their lord and savior.

I think Jabbar is half-right. He is correct to point out that the black community is being manipulated. The problem is, he misidentifies the group that is manipulating them. It isn't the One Percent crowd; it's the Democrat Party.

But, no worries. HRC will appear at some black church in 2015-2016 and deliver her "I ain't no ways taaaard" speech, and all will be right with the world.

It's not a conspiracy to keep people down

that's just folly

You get wealthier by helping other people...wealthy people understand this truth.

Poor people are poor because of choices they make and the decisions their parents made combined with the bad circumstances they are surrounded with..

Look at the youtube videos of the Ferguson crime scene... All minorities area, people can't get past the F word in their vocabulary...it's sad!

The dude filming talks like an uneducated thug...

"The POOOOOOOOlice just shot him man, he mother fuc&**N dead".

So what do we know so far? Brown ripped off a store, then had a little WWL in the backseat of a cop car...ran away, then turned around, ran back toward the policeman...shot dead

Bad choice to rob store
Bad choice to challenge cop and try to take his gun
Bad choice to run away
Bad choice to run back at police "What are you going to do?"

but "white cops hate black people", so lets burn down the city...Get Al Sharpton out to raise hell

I hate this crap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The devil doin' work is all I can say..

So the ninety eight percent of the fifty million voting for Obama is not organized? I disagree.

KAJ is one of those famous, high profile black athletes who has been heavily criticized in the black community for not being more of a spokesperson/activist for black rights. Being a star in L.A. he had a great platform for speaking out, yet he took the opposite approach & almost literally hid from the media whenever he was not totally ignoring them and/or treating them poorly.

A certain segment of society being distracted by handouts, ridiculous political hot button issues, etc instead of taking care of their own business.

Some may argue that this is pushed upon them by an evil 1%. I'd lean towards most of the problem being ignorance and laziness.

Well said Apex. At some point in this young man's life, surely he was taught that challenging a cop AFTER you've just committed a felony is a BAD thing. The fact that the cop didn't know that yet is irrelevant. Brown KNEW he had committed one which is obviously going to affect his actions.

A factoid that few know about Kareem Abdul Jabbar. During the mid point of his career he built a mansion. He was shocked at the premiums to insure it. IE, if your house costs 100M to replace your insurance bill is gonna be really really high.

So, he decided to save the money and not insure it. What could possibly happen? Well, it burned down. This is what caused him to hang around in his latter years as a part time player. To make enough to rebuild the mansion.

He did not make a lot of money through off court endorsements like Michael Jordan since his personality was more surly.

I don't think anyone is distracted, these are issues that are fricking people over...and yes, taxing the bajesus out of rich people has a negative effect on middle class and poor people.

People who work and own businesses aren't distracted because their work comes first, and if they are distracted, it is no one's fault but their own.

this whole country has become so anti business/anti wealth creation since 08, I could fricking wring that POS neck with my bare hands

We run a small business, we made a decision that was seemingly unpopular and people were being derisive about our quarterly stock bonuses that do not exist.

You left a sentence off.

Agreed. Capital gains tax of 35%+ is borderline criminal IMO. Income tax shouldn't be over 10-15% on the federal level.

I don't disagree with this either. However, our political "leaders" contributing to the confusion gives me heartburn.

I don't really care about immigration, but there is nothing distracting about obamacare, our outrageous tax system, the racial tension in the U.S. and the infringements on our freedoms (right of free speech, right to bear arms, right to a public and expeditious trial, and not to mention the redistribution of poor people once they've run off all the tax payers with their regs and handouts that produce poverty and crime)

these "hot button" issues are "hot button" because people decide, not the media. I keep hearing about how the media controls what we think is important...and a lot of times, it is important.
