OTOH, Jimmy Stewart was rejected multiple times for being severely underweight, and went to extremes to put on enough pounds to make the standard, finally being accepted into the Air Corps and flying missions over Germany as a bomber pilot.

Well, it certainly does he appear that he didn't actively avoid the draft. He also didn't fight his reclassification, even at 34 years old.
Wayne had many flaws, but being a draft dodger or being someone who "managed to avoid serving" isn't one.

I am pretty young and grew up on the Duke and Eastwood westerns, they were awesome. Never heard of him swinging both ways and the colon thing wasnt from eating steak everyday you dipshits. The man was in pain and dying of cancer and on a ton of pain meds. All you pills heads on here should know what that does.
