Yes.
The white people defending Stewart - remind me of blind defense by black people of OJ.
It's automatic, knee-jerk defense of their good ol' boy.

You realize there is a very large % of whites who want tony charged with murder? Not sure if you could say the same about blacks and oj

All the cynicism aside, I pointed out some of the more glaring similarities:
(1) OJ went into hiding, just like Stewart did.
Think about this for a sec. There are stages of guilty conscience that a lot of offenders go through, especially when they feel like they did something wrong. Most notably is remorse. Feeling remorseful is not the same as grieving or being in a state of shock. And it elicits the same results each time. Either the person does not talk, or just disappears.
Let's just give Tony the benefit of the doubt for a second...and compare to OJ. The law found OJ innocent (even though everyone on the planet should know better). A truly innocent person will reach out to the family affected, try to console, make amends, etc.
Tony Stewart has been completely insulated and concerned only about himself, his future. This not unlike a few other notorious high-profile cases where the offending party definitely could have had some type of guilt assigned to him (see GZ following a teenager unnecessarily, getting his arsed kicked, and, lucky for him, doing the only thing he could to save his life).
I think Stewart is in hiding right now because he feels remorse. Not sorrow for a family that lost their son, but remorse that he allowed his temper to rage out of control.
Which, as I pointed out, was another similarity between OJ and Tony Stewart: both had a history of bad tempers
Am I still reaching?

No. You pulled it out.
Tony will settle in private; apology/tears/regret and money. OJ...NEVER! That is what is dissimilar in the two.

I'll have to disagree with a totality of race involvement here. I think just as many white people are accusing Tony of wrongdoing here.
What I will say is this: as a group, practically all of NASCAR and it's fans are behind Tony Stewart. Not really surprising. A fan is literally a root of the word fanatic, which implies someone that puts faith in someone or something without solid reasoning involved.
But, as with most fans, they can be easily turned on their beloved, just as easy as they show unabashed love for them (see Mark McGuire, Barry Bonds, and the rest of baseball's steroid era)

I agree with the PT board's unofficial prophet of political doomsday on this one.
Whereas OJ's anger led to premeditated murder based on a history of hate, Tony wasn't trying to kill the guy at all. Probably just wanted to scare him at the least or spray dirt on him at the most if he confesses one of the two, that will help him moving forward.

He can NEVER admit anything.
If he does he opens himself to arrest and lawsuits.
I hope your not his lawyer

Stewart was, imo, trying to scare the guy and the car slid too far. Is that negligence? Maybe. But, it wasn't his intent to cause death.
If that's what Stewart actually did then he will go to jail for a decent amount of time...maybe 10+.

This so cute! NC Tigah, it would be an honor to me if you used this pic as your avatar.

You have a complete disconnect with reality.
You just compared Tony Stewart to OJ Simpson.
It's pretty hard to combat stupidity that impressive.

One engaged in premeditated double murder and the other didn’t. The difference is that wide and glaring.

You know, there are a lot of posts on here about liberal being a mental disease, and the stupidity of liberals etc etc and we all know the usual suspects who make those kinds of posts and I generally dismiss them.
But god damn son, don't give those people credence.

Yes I did.
What was OJ before he let his temper/anger to get the better of him?
He was the same thing Tony Stewart is: an athlete with no priors, but a penchant for anger and domestic violence.
What was OJ after the murders?
He was the same thing Tony Stewart is: an athlete in hiding, obviously feeling remorse, and just like Tony, has the unrequited love and backing of his fans.
What is your end game here, besides looking like a fool?
