That would be fine if it was humorous. It wasn't. It was selfish and undisciplined. CSP let him know about it.

You play how you practice. Saints need to nip the penalties in the bud.

As for Graham, it's selfish and it needs to stop. Some of us don't watch the Saints to see Jimmy Graham's dunks or all of the other celebrations (honestly, the first-down signals and chest-beating is beyond tired). It's not entertainment, it's egomania. The play on the field is the entertainment. The NFL should suspend him next time it happens.

Rob Ryan and the defensive line should have a few words with him next time it happens because it starts the defense on a shorter field.

I think they'd be better served talking to the coverage unit. God awful coverage most of last night.

JG didn't knock out his wife; he didn't get busted for PEDs; he didn't drive while drunk, and he didn't bring a gun to a strip club, any of which might justify a column.

His behavior isn't a national problem, it's Payton's problem and Payton will fix it. (and the faux outrage from the faux tough guy sports writer is silly).

The whole article is a fricking joke. He's doing nothing but trashing Jimmy Graham's character and calling him an idiot because he dunked in a meaningless game. Pretty disgusting that a guy can claim to be a self respecting journalist and write that garbage.

Good lord so now the guy can't be enthusiastic after making a big play? I don't give a shite whether or not he beats his chest when he's playing the way he has his entire career. Should JJ Watt stop celebrating when he makes a sack?

Grege Doyel slanders Jimmy Graham the whole article making the case that Jimmy is:

-"a rebel"
-"an anarchist"
-"(not) an adult"
-"a petulant child"
-"all about himself"
-"immature"
-"stupid"
-"fool"
-"a threat to Sean Payton and the NFL at large"

Then Greg Doyel inserts perspective:
"Big picture, it's harmless."

Much like his CBS colleague, Pete Prisco, Greg Doyel is a dumbass bitch who thinks he knows how to write, but doesn't think when he writes.

If it costs his team 15 yards, he should.

I haven't read the article so I don't know what this guy is going on about. And I don't particularly like the rule. But it is a rule.

I know it's preseason, but CSP obviously thought enough about the game to be extremely pissed about the penalties and to make those comments about discipline and coaching. The TD celebration is a part of that. It doesn't count, but get your crap together while it STILL doesn't count so we can do it right in the regular season.

I get what you're saying but it's not like he has to practice not dunking the ball. And I was only referring to the part in that post where he said Jimmy should stop doing the first down signal and beating his chest.

I said earlier that if we hadn't been flagged so much already, CSP wouldn't have reacted as strongly as he did.

I'm fine with any form of celebration as long as a penalty isn't called.

meh if he's dunking, that mean's he's catching TDs... the first 15 yards of a drive is never going to be the difference between giving up touchdowns or not, so IDGAF

I don't agree with this either. If it's the regular season it needs to stop but I really don't care if he's doing it in the preseason.

Folks, when national sportswriters try to turn Jimmy Graham into a bad guy, a player who tries to mentor kids with absent or no parents, who spends his free time flying a plane, not in Vegas, when that happens our local sportswriters ought be ashamed of themselves for not defending him. They know better. Of all the sleazy guys to vilify in the sports world he picks on JG for being dumb.
