People who think Sproles will just run it up the middle and take away from Shady's touches are overreacting big time. Chris Polk is the guy that will take away Shady's touches if he goes out. Just look at the run in the 4th quarter against the Lions last season.

I don't think anyone thinks this. Sproles will get receptions

not if Matt Cassell is starting

As opposed to Jason Campbell, Brian Hoyer, and Brandon Weeden

The Browns led the league in passing attempts last year with those shitty QBs, 1 WR and a TE

that was more of a shot at his arm strength.

the sproles factor is starting to become grossly overrated, it may take some of mccoy's receptions away, but shady is too good and explosive as a receiver to greatly diminish his role there

AP is my #1 this year...Him and Rashad Jennings are the two I've been sucking off the most on this board so far

Reasons:

Highest ceiling out of any of the RBs and you cannot deny that. The dude had 2000+ rush yards less than a year after an ACL tear.

Highest floor- while JC and McCoy are unlikely to bust, a shitty season for AP is 1200yds and 10 TDs.

New coach that loves to force feed RBs (See LT circa San Diego). I'd say anyone who knows football will agree that AP has more talent that LT. In addition, this new coach is responsible for having his RBs catch over 50 balls/season.

Peterson is a very underrated pass catcher as is.

Not saying JC or McCoy are going to be terrible, but I like the low risk, high reward with AP...added to that the coaching addition. Peterson is my 1a with Mccoy and my 1b.

I Think AP has a monster year. Norv Turner loves to get his RBs in space and involve them in the passing game.. He takes back the #1 RB spot this year without a doubt. It's unfortuante I won't have a shot at him in any of my drafts.

sproles being removed from the situation

it's still dicey with AP still having the advantage...but every single mock has McCoy/Charles...though a lot of mocks, players are occasionally taking AP #1

this

Sproles had 71 catches last year....and Thomas has 77.

With DJax gone, the ball has to go somewhere. Sproles likely gets some of those targets.

Brown/Polk had a combined 98 touches last season, or 6 touches per game.

I see Sproles getting around 6-8 touches a game maybe, some of the coming via what I just mentioned with DJax gone, so the fact that Sproles is going to eat into Shady's production is absurd
