sometimes the battery packs can just fail.
Can you verify the voltage on the battery pack?
Regardless, there will be a model number on the battery, search that in Ebay, Amazon or on Google. You should be able to get a new pack for cheap if so.
I would first though contact Amazon and see if they will swap the pack for free. If it came from them and not a third party they may.
