Yes it is, just take a look at their national team make up the last 30 years or so. Mexicans going abroad is a new thing the last 7 or 8 years and many of them don't play. Some of their best player performance wise for the national team play at home.

Half their WC squad played at home lots of Mexicans who go to Europe come right back.

No its not.

Hugo Sanchez, Mexico's greatest ever player, was a force for Real Madrid in the 1980s.


At some point most older Mexican National Team players went abroad for at least few seasons. Most of them returned to Mexico simply because they can earn a better salary domestically.

Hell even, fat Cuahtemoc Blanco played for Deportivo in Spain and he's played for pretty much every Mexican club.

Their best domestic player just signed for Atletico Madrid.
