Cant we say the same about LSU?

LSU has had their fair share of busts, if not more than Alabama. For whatever reasons.

Seems like its the nature of the beast for successful college programs.

I wonder if any colleges have a higher percentage of busts than just the whole first round?

This guy has the number at about 33% of first rounders will "bust" (LINK ).

I don't think you'd find any colleges abnormally higher than all other first rounders. It's just when a college is doing well, they have a lot of first rounds, meaning they will have more busts than other teams.

Some more numbers from 2012: LINK

quote:

Of the 319 first-round picks taken in the last 10 years (the Patriots forfeited their 2008 selection as a penalty for "Spygate"):

— 98 made at least one Pro Bowl (31 percent)

— 55 made multiple Pro Bowls (17 percent)

Im struggling to think of a team with more monumenta top 5l busts than Jamarcus russell, glen dorsey, and Tyson Jacskon

I bet you there is another team close out there. Just sticks out to you as a fan of the team.

Back on the original topic of Cyrus -- he was a 2nd round pick, for him to struggle in camp is no real shocker.

I feel like when programs who have a great run over a period of time, they inherently will have more "busts" due to people grading them higher than where they should be based solely on where they played college football. The narrative, for me at least, shifts towards Bama right now because of the vitriol for Bama because of their winning.

Landry is in the middle, but going to reserve judgement on Claiborne. The same way im not ready to label Trent Richardson a bust yet. But both are certainly trending that way

If you are ready to label Dorsey a bust, then Landry is definitely a bust.

Craig Davis going in the first is an example of this.

Saban has gotten them ready for the NFL by putting them in a position to be drafted, and often drafted high.

yeah, no doubt.

but at what cost? It kinda seems like Kouandijo may or may not have recovered all the way after his injury.

why was he back in the lineup if it was obvious something was wrong? I guess that's what I have some doubts about.

guys play through pain all the time because they don't want to lose their starting job and they don't want to jeopardize their draft status.

Risks involved all around so sometimes its damned if you do, damned if you don't.

If he is struggling and it happens not to be anything health related well then the Bills may have made a bad pick.

Landry has been way more productive than Dorsey.

Plus he was drafted outside of the top 5

He hasn't even played a snap in the NFL.

Hell Dorsey was criminally overrated in his college days, I knew he'd bust.

Laron Landry should never be labeled a bust. He was plenty successful enough to avoid that label.
