Bane, too, was born in the pit. He even said as much when he was talking to Batman in the sewers. That's probably why he took a liking to baby Talia and protected her for all those years.

He could have been lying to protect the myth of him being born there and not Talia..

AMIRITE?!

With the ending and the reveal of Talia being the main bad guy it makes everything that was believed about him beforehand come into question.

quote:

it was kind of obvious Bane wasn't the kid because in the fight scene between Batman and Bane that takes place in the sewer Bane says "I didn't see the light until i was already a man"

How does that disprove he was the kid? Look's like further evidence he was the kid to me..? (Obviously we know now he wasn't the kid but that line actually backs up the fact that it was believed to be him)

There is no way of knowing if bane was born there though. Also his line doesn't make sense about not seeing light until he was a man because the pit was opened to the air and was illuminated by the sun during the day

I wonder what movie would have been made if Ledger had not died. Also they shouldn't have killed off Two Face. He was done so well.

Bingo.

It only makes sense if that line means something like he had a horrible childhood, or he was tortured as a kid, not necessarily that he was born in the pit.

The problem with that is that the "story" or "legend," is about one kid who was born int he pit and escaped. There's nothing in the film, beyond Bane's dramatic language that could be taken either way, to say he was born in the pit.

I always took it metaphorically. Like he didn't see the light that was the doom of Gotham till he was a man. But maybe I read into it too much.

It's a metaphor. The person above obviously can't see that. The darkness he is referring to is the state of his existence down in the Pit. He was born into darkness because he was born in a prison that was thought to be impossible to escape. The circumstances of his birth molded him into the man he would become. And by seeing the light, he means that he did not discover the League of Shadows and their ideals until he was already a man.

quote:

You think darkness is your ally. You merely adopted the dark. I was born in it. Molded by it. I didn't see the light until I was already a man, by then it was nothing to me but BLINDING.

exaggerate much??

It's the worst of the three for me, but I still enjoyed the film. I don't take these superhero films too seriously so I'm able to sit back and enjoy them despite the huge plot holes.

It was pretty obvious that Nolan wasn't really into making this film and half assed it. I think he was checked out after Heath's death, but WB backed up the brinks truck to his home and convinced him otherwise.

And how does Bane being a henchman (even though he really wasn't) downgrade his character? Wasn't Darth Vader a henchman for the Emperor?

I completely agree with you on this one. I've never understood this argument, very weak IMO.

one reason I sort of give them a pass on this one. I think they really had to deviate from what he actually wanted the 3rd one to be. They'll never admit it, but there was too much foreshadowing in TDK to believe Joker would not have been a big part of TDKR. I'd love for that plot to leak out down the road.

Yea I imagine at a minimum the Joker would be running that mock court Scarecrow had, and they probably would've put a much bigger emphasis on all the societal anarchy stuff he was doing

Yeah, I still don't understand why they did not have Two Face live and have him be the villain in the 3rd movie. Huge mistake.

Why did Morgan Freeman's character get such a fricking attitude when he saw Batman's giant cell phone spying video wall?

I mean of all the shite he helped Bruce Wayne do, THAT was asking too much? The Joker was blowing up hospitals and people with giant oil bombs and shite, all Batman wants to do is find the guy and Fox is being a little bitch about it.

It felt like some oddly placed political message, and it's still one of the weirder things that stands out to me the most in the trilogy.

It very well could have been a metaphor but if you believe that then you could also believe his line about "being born into it" was somewhat a metaphor as well.

All I'm saying is their is no proof he was born there and to seem like it's a known fact is wrong.
