That show sucked the day after Jim & Pam got married

That's a bit harsh. There were still plenty of great moments after that. However, the show was always missing something after that. I found myself routing for Jim the first few seasons. They never really found a way to fill that void once he finally got his shot with Pam.

I think they tried to recapture that with Michael and Holly, but their relationship felt too awkward and unrelatable.

Honestly I thought the whole Athleap idea was stupid anyway and shouldn't have been successful at all.

The idea that athletes would represent themselves had train wreck written all over it.

It took a step back after the marriage cause well there was no long term story really anymore, but I still enjoyed it besides the 2nd to last season.

Jim's comedy style always cracked me up though so that's probably why

The last season was actually really good. Not up to par with the the first 5, but much better than 8.

This, no question. It's always funny to see Office threads where it's very clear people never watched the last season...and usually it's the ones bitching about how much the show sucked after Michael left. Season 9 was really solid.

And I'm watching season 8 right now and remembering that some of the Robert California episodes were actually pretty good. Now, the few-episode arc before RC joined were pretty bad though, like the ones with Will Ferrell as De'Angelo. That was horrible (I still enjoyed the show, but they were horrible compared to the rest of the show).

Also one of the very few finales that I felt were perfect. I literally turned off the TV and didn't have a single complaint.

Yeah, the finale was great. Michael was back but he wasn't dominating in the episode, and he hit all the right notes...I mean come the frick on, Michael paying for two cell phones so he had enough room for pics of his kids? That's fricking perfect.

I also liked how they tied everything together with the show actually being a literal documentary as well. That was really cool.

And on Michael and Holly, I thought there couldn't have been a more perfect person for him to end up with. I liked everything about that relationship, and was glad to see Michael end up marrying her. And the proposal episode was fantastic as well. It was perfect Michael/Office.

Well, it was ruined for me at about the time she started acting like a bitch on a regular basis, showing her true colors.

I was ok with this because it was set up that way for her to see her selfishness and make it right in the finale.

I gave up on it probably after season 3 or 4. I hate Manny that much.

I enjoyed first few seasons and liked Cam and Phil/Luke, guess once Luke grew up I gave it up. I really , really hated Manny.

To me Office and Parks is way better than Modern Family.

Yup. I think it is safe to say most of the haters didn't watch much after Michael left. I didn't say ALL, I said most.

It took me a while to finally watch the last 2 seasons but I liked them.

I really liked the finale but as stated earlier, I didn't like the harsh turn in Andy's life. The Nard Dog deserved better.

Season 9 is just bad and not just because Michael's gone
-Ryan and Kelly was a big loss because those characters had come into their own
-The best thing left on the show was the Jim and Dwight dynamic and you got rid of that in half the episodes with Jim in Philly
-The Jim/Pam marriage stuff was crap, with sound guy's abruptly ending story making it worse.
-Making Andy an a-hole for 80% of the season didn't help
-The sloppy episodes that jammed in the pilot of Dwight's spinoff that are pretty much ignored after they're done
-Trying to recreate an office romance with Pete and Erin except Pete was boring
-A good finale doesn't make a good season, also why is Michael in the finale for 30 seconds?

Also hated what they did to Andy character, he was top notch comedy S3-5.

Andy was fantastic in seasons 3 and 4.

They ruined him.

On that note.. Season 3

Agree fully.

Yeah, never got this one either. Also, as a sound guy...none of us look like that guy. Where was the long hair, metal tee shirt, cargo pants, and tattoos? Totally unbelievable.

I hated this also.

I was okay with it, I think any more wouldn't have been as sweet and endearing as it ended up being for Dwight.

I don't necessarily mean more lines but he's not in the scene back at the office when everybody was sitting around with Creed singing. That would just be odd "real life" behavior.

I forgot about that!
Office is my all time favorite show and Michael Scott my favorite character and I'd love to see a reunion.

Even the worst seasons were funnier and wittier than almost anything else on TV.

As much as I liked S9, the faux pilot episode for Dwight's spinoff "The Farm" show was pretty horrible, I can admit that. But overall, S9 was solid IMO.

Ryan and Kelly being gone actually made the show better IMO...at least Kelly. I did like Ryan's presence throughout the show though.

The sound guy storyline was stupid, but I get why they did that. The show lived on Jim and Pam for the most part. It was always the main underlying story in the first half of the show, and it's also what got (IMO) women watching the show. So they dabbled with it a bit and tried to give it a little drama, so that they could then come back full circle (like with Jim and the DVD) and make everything sort of "happily ever after" for them. As much as I don't like the whole sound guy angle, I get it and they wrapped up Jim and Pam's bullshite pretty well...and even had Pam on board with Athleap in the end (like she should've been anyway). Pam's character made a nice comeback near the end of the show's run. I think the writers knew how much she grated on people at that point and even had her comment within the show about how much she sucked. So for her to finally come around was a nice ending for them.

Also, Michael was only in the finale for a few minutes/scenes because it wasn't his show anymore. He already had his finale, and it was a two-parter anyway. So him being in the actual finale was nice, and the time that he was in it was perfect IMO...it was a chance to catch up with him and see that things turned out GREAT for him, but it still took a back seat to the show itself and let the finale be about the show and all of the characters instead of about Michael.
