Battlestar touched on a lot of themes and issues that many other shows wouldn't go near back when it was airing.
w/o giving anything away season 3 episode 2 was a pretty interesting take on how a long war changes what otherwise good people find morally acceptable.

Better hurry up. Netflix won't be streaming it after October 1st.

I was holding off on the Blu-Ray because it's been on Netflix forever. Looks like I have to bite for christmas.

I'm on my third watch through right now. This show is addictive. If OP hasn't watched 33 yet, prepare to be blown away.

Holy shite, how do you know this?
Been busy and I have only made it to the end of season 1.

My cousin was married to the creator, David. He's a nice dude.

Great Show or greatest show?

Great Show
It's the greatest of the modern sci-fi movement for sure.
And it hit so many issues, social, cultural, and political, across a wide spectrum. Better than many a show.
But it isn't the greatest of all-time.

For sci fi I have a hard time not putting it No. 1, although STTNG is definitely fighting for 1st or 2nd as well

What's a top 5 ranking?

I'm the biggest BSG proponent on here, but even I have my limits. I'd throw dramas like the Wire and maybe Boardwalk ahead of it. Sci-Fis like TNG and X-Files and Twilight Zone are probably better overall. BSG's impact on TV has sadly been minimal, which impacts its legacy.
