What is your favorite cloud storage service?

Looking to finally go ahead and pay a monthly or yearly fee to expand my cloud backup capacity.
The easy choice would be Dropbox, as I think it is the best and easiest to use across all platforms.
But, Google Drive for only $10 a month for a massive 1TB ($10 gets you only 100gb with Dropbox) seems like by far the most bang for my buck.
What say you?

I started with Dropbox and have tried several out. I am currently using Google Drive with the 100 GB option for 1.99/month. I am very happy with it. I may be switching to the 1TB option at some point.

google drive is pretty easy if you ask me. And they are going to keep their prices cheap, dropbox might not.
dropbox is going to get acquired but by whom? msft? oracle? google? apple?

I think I'll start with the 100gb Google Drive and expand when I need to.
The only stupid thing about Google Drive is they do not have an auto-backup feature for iPhone/iPad photos and videos. But there's a $5 app called BackupRocket that can do it.
Silly oversight by Google but not a huge deal.

Tried this way of doing it and it's horrible.
I want to be able to view files in a folder on my computer, not on the web only.
Just do a Google search on this. Lot of people hate this and want Google to fix it.
Another question, you receive 15gb for free from Google Drive. If you up grade to the 100gb option, do you get 115gb or only 100gb?

Yeah, that's another bonus is that you can auto backup photos to Google +, and it's doesn't count against your Drive storage.

my bad. i thought the google plus photos & videos were accesible via folder on google drive.
its the opposite that's true..you can add google drive photos as an additional 'backup source' for google plus.
yeah they need to integrate these a little better.

Surely they will at some point. And albeit slightly annoying, that $5 app will do it for me.
Does anyone know if upgrading to the 100gb on Google Drive gives you 100gb or 115gb?

No. You are upgrading to 100gb. You do not go to 115gb.

they sure drug their feet and made the transition from picasa to g+ as painful as possible. a textbook example of how NOT to transition your customers from a great platform to a shitty one while you were working out the kinks.
the other 'worst forced transition' i can think of is microsoft moving me from my BELOVED foldershare to MeSH..then to LIVE..and then basically just killed it completely.
i wish they had just left foldershare alone
ok sorry for thread mini hijack..
i'm not sure about 115 vs 100. the other poster is correct; if you don't save photos at the highest resolution ing G+, they never count towards your total storage.

Yeah, that would be nice, but it is tough to complain for $1.99.

Google Drive, even the free option has been great for me

I have 115 instead of 100, however, this is on my business email and the extra 100 came free with my chromebook.
I don't find myself using it that often though because I have remote access to my NAS.

Probably on a different deal.
I have very very few videos so 100gb should last a long time.
I've got 2 500gb external hard drives that both contain identical info and neither is even close to being filled. And that's with tons of music too (probably won't back music up in the Google Drive).

shite just sync that up with google music. how many songs do you have?
Posted on 8/11/14 at 1:37 pm to CAD703X
Probably like 50-60 gigs worth.
But shite man, I hardly ever use music in that format anymore thanks to Spotify.
