Unlike the UK's Robin Cooke who resigned when he was unable to talk some sense into Tony Blair, Powell and Clinton were unwilling to walk away from the trappings of power so they went along for the ride.
Not sure what Powell's motivations were for staying the course. I feel confident saying that Hillary has shown that power is more important to her than her principles in the past.

Alatiger nailed it. She will never be President because, among other reasons, she was the architect of Odummy's foreign policy.
This is fun, though. It isn't often that you see an architect attempt to blow up his own creation.

So she's admitting she's a neocon. Cool.
Of course she's a neocon. That's why she voted for W's Iraq War in 2002.
Golly gee whillickers, it's almost as if both sides are taking orders from the same boss.

Who is this boss they are taking orders from?

So the former Secretary of State is denouncing the foreign policy of the President she worked for. Awesome.
This is really weird isn't it?

Honestly? Kind of a bizarre mixture of sock puppet fight and cowardice.
She is the architect and implementer of forgeign policy within the broad guidance that the President provides to her. If it failed (quite frankly) then she has no one to look at other than herself.

No way she can successfully run from something she was a part of...

"Let me say it again. I did have foreign policy with that man, Mr. obama."

Another analogy;
When I was the chaffeur and taking orders I could not drive at all.
But if you let me own the car, then it will all be good.

She can't distance herself when she didn't speak out or resign in protest of said idiotic policies.
All she is going to do is alienate the blacks and fanatical fringe who will dump her for another Obama type candidate.

Yes.
Yes she can.
She can say and do whatever she wants. She is a Progressive that will be "taken care of" by her media.
Did anyone at CNN call her out?
Blacks will vote for her if she is the Dem nominee no matter what.

she has always been a neo-con and very hawkish.
smart political move by HRC. FP usually has a small role in presidential elections, it can affect the primaries though. Obama has had mis-step after mis-step in the last few years, HRC trying to frame the issue early is smart politics.
The only thing is she opens herself up to the left, and potentially vulnerable to her base if Rand Paul is GOP nominee. americans are SICK of war, on the left and right.
How on Earth would tacking right help her in the primaries- it'd be like a Republican moving left this year so he could win the Republican primaries.

Colin Powell.

Nothing new here, she detailed the same in her book, depicting the disagreements. Also said the same thing in Charlie Rose interview. Hillary knows the Dem Left won't support her in primaries but they will in the general election.

And Colin Powell will never be president either. Neither will Condoleeza Rice. There are too many egregious errors to pin on them that they either supported or did not oppose strongly enough when they had the chance.

Obama's Foreign Policy is Hillary Clinton's foreign policy since she was Secretary of State and executed his policy that led to this mess.
If she disagreed with him, she should have resigned in protest. She didn't. She took advantage of it and is now stabbing him in the back.
If she disagreed with him, she should have spoken up and convinced him to change it. She couldn't. If she could not influence her boss and was not a part of SHAPING the foreign policy that she was employed to execute, then why would we think that she can shape anything else or work with others?
I would have respected Hillary if she would have opposed Obama and resigned WHILE she was Secretary of State. Doing this now that everything is clearly falling apart makes her look pathetic.
Agree and hope you are correct that she will never be President.
