So is it official that P5 teams will now only play each other?

Maybe I missed it but it's been unclear to me if that aspect is actually happening?

I for one hope it happens. I'm tired of a quarter of college football being shitty matchups.

I don't think so.

some teams need those types of wins, and they outnumber the teams that don't want to play P5 opponents

I don't want to lose home games. Just cut out the FCS games, and I'll be satisfied.

Probally not. It doesn't happen often but some P5 teams have rivals that are not P5.

Example-Colorado vs Colorado State.

Most teams wouldn't miss these games but some of the contenders may want to play a smaller school as an almost bye week. I like the idea of dropping the FCS games.

Yes, because P5 bottom dwellers are fun to watch.

All they did was poll the coaches. There was no vote and there likely won't be one for quite some time. But yes, attendance at college games will continue being an issue if they don't give us a decent product every week. The current disorganized mess is ridiculous. College football needs to go Big 5 only and have a commissioner who oversees player suspensions, non conference scheduling, etc.

I don't think it is anywhere near happening. It sounds like one of those things people would be in favor of but it won't happen IMO because the lower tier P5 schools will continue to worry about financial issues (e.g. enough gates from home revenue).

If all of the P5 schools actually played two P5 schools ooc every year that would be a major victory and great for college football. I think the playing P5 only or only playing 1a schools is a silly and ineffective policy to endorse.
