Casper said they all just naturally go together. While I think they shouldn't I'm affraid they always have. That is my only reason in being against protests like this one. Lots of bad outcomes and nobody wins.

I don't think that all "black people" are the same. Since I've known a couple throughout my life, I'm pretty certain about this.
However, it seems the inner city does it's best to produce and promote a monolithic "culture".
When I taught, we had plenty of these thug POS wannabes. I had one great student who tried hard and was smarter than all the rest.
Found her crying one day and asked her what the problem was. She told me "all the other kids say I'm trying to be white".
If success makes someone "less black", then there really is no hope for that segment of the population. Until education and hard work is prized and strove for (like it has been in Every other immigrant minority population),
Things will only get worse.

What was the purpose of "protesting" early here? The only information people had was that a white cop killed a black, unarmed teenager. No other details.
And there's the purpose, right? Who cares about fact/details when the provocative story is already there without them? The only thing that mattered was that there was something there that they could tie to the emotions of a certain group who already feels cheated by whitey.

I was thinking of it more as a character issue. I would think that is the only thing the video could be used for with what we know now.
Where this one gets really hairy is the community has lost faith in there local police force not just some random neighborhood watch vigilante. While I think Johnson has handled everything perfectly, I think his involvement is creating a huge rift in the community that will take a long time to get over.

The protest would be to insure (from my perspective) that justice is done. People who hide things don't like public attention. The more attention you bring to a situation, the more likely the truth comes out.

I don't need to. For the most part white people are held in check b/c we believe in turning in the POS that commit the crimes.
If MB was white would there have been any riots?
Most white people would say he shouldn't have fricked with the cop and been a POS. We wouldn't be making excuses for him and saying how he was a good boy.
