Going to make some up now. But all it is is a 4' section of 6 or 8 inch diameter PVC pipe. Drill holes at one end of pipe and put some wire or zip ties through to make up a mesh end. Leave other end open. Drill a couple of holes at open end and attach line with float. Throw it out and let it lay on the bottom. No bait needed. The catfish will go in pipe like they would a summerged log. They swim in but can't back out. Pick up pipe and dump fish into the boat. So easy it ought to be illegal.
I just googled "PVC pipe fish trap". Several videos showing how to.

Aw hell no! I was thinking this was a great system then you have to bring the leg less devils into the picture.
I am losing interest if you can catch those things instead of fish.

It should be noted too... that you need an additional license to use these and are limited to 5 per recreational license.....

I have friends that absolutely slay the flatheads with those pipes, but they do it in March if I remember correctly.

Anyone know where to find the sleeves? Think a bar of catfish soap would work as bait?
