the virtues of non discrimination in any public venue
If the private business doesn't get any tax dollars or public assistance of any kind, they should be free to make whatever choice they make running their business however they see fit as long they're not hurting anybody, stealing anything or slandering/defaming anyone.
It's their property and business, it doesn't belong to you.

I've never seen someone make a scene as they said a prayer before their meal.

If money is speech, how is this not a violation of the restaurant owner's freedom of speech to promote prayer in THEIR private place of business?

They won't let me have an Obama phone. It is discrimination. They use the qualifications to discriminate.

The Civil Rights Act doesn't guarantee government phones for all. Sorry.

Atheists dont have any religion, so how can they be discriminated on the basis of religion?

pretty sure it's illegal to offer discounts based on religion

They're being discriminated against for not having religion.
Seriously, you are probably the dumbest poster on this board. CptBengal I think is a close 2nd but he does know a thing or two about the oceans at least - and VolsShaft (Farva) comes off as dumber but its all show - you are #1.

An the FFR is using the threat of a lawsuit to impressive effect.
If more people forced them to actually pursue all these lawsuits, they would disappear very quickly.

It is not legal in all states. It has withstood federal challenge, however.
The CRA allows sex based discrimination for legitimate business purpose. This is why Hooters doesn't have to hire male wait staff.

when it's time for the ticket and there isn't a 15% discount, couldn't the atheist just say he said a silent prayer?
this whole thing seems pretty silly.

Why didn't the atheists, Muslims, Jews, and Protestants just say they were Christians when the Inquisition knocked on their door?

Wouldn't that be lying then?
You don't have to be religous to be ethical or have morals. And lying is the anithesis of both.
(Don't get me wrong. I think it is silly too-- I have prayed many times to get out of Winston-Salem when I was there and I am not religous)
