You can't go wrong with either.
These are 2 of my all-time favorite local places, and amazing places to take friends from out-of-town.
Also I live <5 minutes from both.
SLIGHT edge to Liuzza's because it's more comfortable/casual. Plus frozen beers, o-rings, fried pickles, and frenchulettas.

Describe Liuzza's onion rings for me. Thick?thin? Battered how?
Growing up in BR my fav were at City Cafe because of the thin but not too thin cut. Also a nod to beausoliel's orings. My problem with thick cut is at times the onion is still raw.
