$50 is an aggressive price for an out of town tailgate when people are already footing lodge and premium ticket prices. Hope it works out for them. I'm sure it will.

its going to be 100 with a heat index of 110 that day in Houston, I will pay $50 for AC, BTE is a bonus

There are a shite ton of LSU folks in Houston. Not everyone has to pay for lodging.
BTE has a nice nostalgic factor for those who didn't stay in LA after graduation. And it's Houston, $50 ain't shite baw.
