I dont understand why its such a bad thing for a kid who is making a decision that could affect millions of dollars to have contact with someone that knows what the hell they are talking about.

They do have someone to talk to. The NFL has a draft projection process that tells players where they may get drafted. I don't know the whole process, but either the player or school requests for an evaluation, and the NFL tells them where they grade out.

Personally, the NCAA should have agents apply/screened to be able to provide information to kids so they know what they are getting in to. They can't all have Scott Boras/Jimmy Sexton. If you had some sort of vetting process, it would eliminate these kids getting taken advantage of by "whatever rapper decides he wants to start a sports agent firm of the week" who's "agents" dont know shite about the business.

The NFL screens/approves agents. The problem is, agents are telling these kids "look, I know the NFL graded you out as a 3rd round prospect, but if you sign with me, I can put you on a program that will elevate you into the first round based on the combine. But you have to hurry up and sign with me so that we can get you on the program right away."

Bring in agents, in any capacity, and they will soon be running college football. Agents will be telling their clients how hard/soft to play to avoid injury, guaranteeing them a high draft position in return. This is already happening but when it's made legit, expect the worse. A client is riding the bench & his agent tells him he needs to transfer to a school where he can get playing time. Agents will be funneling in even more money than mite be allowed under any new guidelines. Pro players have proven they cann't handle their money, so what do you expect from a college kid, even if it is not millions involved. A bad can of worms.
