On NSD, I wasn't too happy we missed out on Noil & Brown. But I was too blind to see, Brown wasn't a need. With our depth at DB, Toliver & Paris on the way, AND Adams. Speedy I wanted but wasn't worried since I knew we'd get Dupre in the long run as well as Quinn. Willis... oh boy. But when you look at what we finished with, I was impressed. It could've been a top 20 class period but the staff never gave up even with the losses of Noil and Brown. If you ask me, I'm taking Dupre & Toliver over Noil and Brown any day. But that's just my opinion.

By the way, nice thread. Very insightful.

Brown scared some on the staff because of his shoulder problems and they felt that retaining Toliver with Brown on board for the 2014 class may be difficult.

I'm not sure it would have been too difficult because my source is really really really close to Kevin and he is all LSU and has always been all LSU, regardless.

Good info though Jimmy!

Noil and Willis was just attention whore's who played LSU and the staff for all the free swag they could get! Tony Brown recruitment the almighty dollar won out, u can't tell me Coach Miles didn't try and get Tony to call his dad are anything else Saban did! That's where the story smells to me CLM has always been a family first guy, the story doesn't tell u about the bagmen that accompanied Saban at the hospital!! that's why I hate Alabama!!!!

I knew Speedy wasn't coming when I saw a pic of him and Fournette sitting on the bench right next to each other and neither were smiling, laughing or even looking at one another. They looked they didn't get along at all.

Huh? Right before LF announced, he, Speedy, and Gerald were clowning around on the bench together. They didn't have problems at all. Speedy got sucked in by Sumlin's bullshite, simple as that. Gerald committed to Florida in December, just didn't tell anybody. If we would've hired Jabbar Juluke or had he still been coaching at Karr, both would be Tigers.

Read my post. I told you somebody posted a pic of them here sitting next to each other that day. I was just reading their body language to me it seemed like they didn't get a long. I took from that combined with others here saying Speedy was quoted as saying he didn't want to go to Leonard Fournette University.

I don't know how they interacted before Leonard made his announcement I was at work that day and not able to watch the game.

No need to be a jerk and downvote me for having an opinion bro.

The Karr kids were never coming to LSU per a very reliable source close to the situation.Honestly never had any doubt about LF to LSU.

Forget Speedy!! Sumlin and his "BS" (as posted above) won't seem so attractive when he's getting SHUT DOWN and WORKED by Tre White and RR. Aw man when RR puts that jam on him at the line he gone wish he never left the state!! Lol

Oh how much his stats would've be better vs Those TAMU DBs.

If they didn't like each other, why would they sit together at all? Speedy strikes me as the type who doesn't want anyone else getting more shine than him. So I think all of the attention and effort we devoted to LF kind of rustled Speedy's attention needy jimmies. So he went off to A&M to enjoy going 4-8 and 5-7 every year.

And I did not downvote you man. Had no reason to.

Yeah kinda the way I read it too. I don't understand his logic seems like it would be better to be on the same team as Fournette than going up against him on a team that has no defense.

My apologies then.

I thought Tony Brown picked Bama because he knew playing time/being a possible freshman starter would be much easier to come by. Meanwhile LSU had two stud corners returning who were both rising sophomore's. Maybe he thought with those guys only being soph's that it would be hard to start.

The last thing we want is a kid who doesn't want to compete for PT anyways.

I love the guys we got. They are all extremely talented & it's an absolute stacked class. With that said, it makes me sick to my stomach when I see all the in state talent that went OOS. The Tony Brown situation makes me sick as well after everything LSU did for that family.

So what was the turning point in Tony Brown's recruitment. I know his father wasn't doing well, but what we were hearing was that he'd go somewhere closer to home. Why BAMA last minute?

$$$$ ?

Not to burst your bubble but they are not going to go 4-8 for years to come.

Agree. 2-12 is more realistic.

So you're saying if texas didn't have the coaching uncertainty then fournette would've been a done deal to them?...or more like 50/50 lsu/tx? I find it hard to believe that he would've gone to tx even if mack hadn't been under threat of being fired if lsu was in his heart and tx an infatuation like you said.
