Give it some time and I'm sure some other SEC fan base will have some "absolutely true" story about how LSU fans terrorized him and his family and tried to frame him for some crime. I'm only half kidding.

He did it the right way; he said from the get go: I want to play for Bama. No games. No misleading. No "ha, ha gotcha." Just like the Notre Dame commit (forget his name) who has been honest from day one (still hope he'll change his mind).

Sorry about his shoulder; hope he recovers soon.

Bama can't steal a guy who LSU never offered or showed much interest in.

Bottom line on the Monroe kids is if Sims got an offer they're all at LSU, but we probably lose Adams. Give me Adams all day

Yea we didn't even offer OJ Smith. He fits better in Bama's defense, he has family from there, good for him. I'm not one to begrudge players just for leaving the state to play college ball. Some kids want to go do their own thing, and that's fine.

Now if kids lie to our coaches, lead them on and hurt our efforts to recruit other players that's not something I agree with at all.

Say what you want about Tony Brown, but you can say he definitely took care of his family. His status as a Top 5 player helped his sister get to college and eased the burden of his dad's medical bills. Slimy, but cost effective strategy.

This is bullshite. Anyone with medical bills now days knows you hardly have to pay shite. IMO, he saw DBU and wasn't sure he could take over the young guys spots.
I say it again, his dad is now more burdened financially than before because of the school being so far away. Instead of visiting both kids at one TOP school in both FB and Track, now he is split and has health problems.

If it were purely out of love for his dad, he should have stayed closer to home.IMO

Medical bills are the #1 cause of bankruptcies in the U.S.
Or maybe I missed the sarcasm.

Bankruptcy diesnt mean broke. Basically, you keep your home and car and get to throw out the $100k hospital bill by paying some lawyer $2k....I call that profit.

What I meant is you pay $50 per month and they can do shite...or you apply for aide destitute crap and it is forgiven.

Screw the 5 for 5.

Yes we lost some talent but we had a few guys come to LSU just as good.

LSU is in great shape. The 15 class will be Great. The 16 class will top the charts and the 14 will be the backbone to championships.

Did Laborn ever respond to G8R's rebuttal?

Someone needs to taste some nuts

Posted by Message Ldrake53 What I know about the 5-for-5 fiasco I do notice one consistent thread regarding LSU recruiting; we usually get the La kids who have strong, close knit families, with fathers who play important roles in their sons lives: Fournette, Brumfield, Moses, etc. Those Dads said they let their sons make their own choices because their kids happiness is their main priority. That's the way it should be, but kids without strong families are just so vulnerable to the "uncles" of this world who constantly interfere with kids recruiting.

So fricking true! Wow! You hit it out the park

Yeah I still remember what Malachi's dad said in an interview.
quote:

“Wherever Malachi goes, he will face adversity,” Mike Dupre said. “It’s very important for him to make that decision of where he wants to be, so when that adversity hits, he doesn’t want to immediately transfer or have a sense of negativity. If it’s the place he truly wants to be, then that will help him respond to the adversity that he will face

Bankruptcy means insolvent. All money you have is tied up. You can't buy groceries with a house. Also, the value of the vehicle could actually not allow you the option. You're kind of talking out of your arse here.

I get down voted for trying to connect the dots yesterday, but now we argue over bankruptcy.

Ironic

We all need to accept the fact that Speedy fits much better in TAMU's offense as well. We grabbed two amazing WRs that fit our offense perfectly. Speedy is going to be very, very good and is tailor made for Sumlin's scheme.

TAMU coming to LSU recruiting board to knock on Texas.

The little brother syndrome with you guys is truly astounding.

"G8TRGRT: Anyone that was listening knew Speedy was anti-LSU from day one"

...what threw us G8TRGRT was that if you go back and look at the visit dates on scout and 247 you will see that Willis and Noil visited LSU combined 20 times in the 18 or so months that the database goes back before national signing day.

the old recruiting saying "pay attention to what a kid does and not what a kid says" did not hold true.

on a related note, many of us have speculated as to what might change with LSU recruiting, what strategies might change with les and frank after that day. i get the mr. nice guy, sure come-on-to-BR anytime idea. "get 'em on campus" we all say, but with these two tricksters when was enough, enough?

We got backdoored hard in the case of both Willis and Noil. The staff won't let that happen again

so true about us getting backdoored. deceit.

mack brown's recruiting methods were lazy, antiquated and anemic, but the one thing i liked about the guy was the way he said to his offers "here's your scholarship to play at Texas, take a reasonable amount of time to think it over and get back to us." period. the end. if not, all the best, but my staff is moving on.

Actually you are wrong. Saban was extremely close to accepting the job if certain stipulations were met and the main one wasnt . That stipulation was that he wanted Brown to be able to go out the way he deserved and when all of the infighting was happening between the board and UT president and Mack had to do an all of a sudden retirement announcement, Saban decided to agree to a deal with Bama. All the boosters had to do was wait a few days and Saban wouldve been there. Instead they fricked everything up by wanting it done right then and there.

I hate those kind of statements. So much BS. Speedy would have fit great in our offense. He would fit great in any offense. You really don't think our OC wouldn't have found a way to utilize him? Cam Cameron is to dumb to use him?
