Friendly, unsolicited advice: Reconsider this. I think you'll regret not being there for her in her last moments. It will be very hard, but you'll allow her to see, feel and sense you as she goes.

Garmish is right man. You need to be holding her when its over. It will be one of the hardest things you have ever done or will do in your life but it will be a great comfort to her, you can do it.

Agree... And honestly, its really quiet and peaceful.

I'm meeting with my brother, sister and mom at the vet. She's going today and I plan on being there due to y'all's advice; it's just going to be extremely difficult. I don't know how I'll drive 45 minutes afterwards (I was downtown planning to bring a friend to the airport) back home.

It's amazing what pets do. I wasn't even this upset and agonized when my parents split after 30 years of marriage.
