Not many legitimate OOC games are played that late in the year. Though we did play wvu at their house late September.

Sorry Tiger fans, but I agree with the Wisconsin administration. These games should be at the college sites. I don't care about the extra money, how about showing a little loyalty to your fan base? There are about 70,000 season ticket holders that deserve better than Sam Houston State and Eastern I Don't Give a Frick. Money ain't everything.

As much as I would love to get the home and homes, I would rather the school get the money. I've been out of school a couple of years now, but the money problems they seem to be having is reason enough to play these games. Imo.

eta: this is assuming he's being 100% truthful. God knows Wisconsin needs more publicity. You really never hear about them. Telling everyone that a major SEC program is "scared" to come to Madison is a nice recruiting pitch

Wisconsin does very well for itself with publicity.

Not only is the university second behind Texas in athletic revenue, but it receives a lot of free publicity, whether it be Bucky Badger on a Sportscenter commerical, Barry Alvarez sporting a Wisconsin polo in Entourage, Russell Wilson winning a Super Bowl, JJ Watt winning DPOY, Scott Van Pelt [on multiple occasions] calling Wisconsin the best college town in the country, basketball getting to a Final Four, football featuring one of the more 'fun' traditions that receives a lot of airplay, etc, etc.

Simply, they just don't have the history a lot of other athletic programs have. It isn't about publicity. Football was not relevant until Barry Alvarez came to the program and basketball was very much a backseat sport until Dick Bennett's final year/the introduction of Bo Ryan.

With over 400,000 living alumni and 40K+ students at a world-renowned research university each year, you better believe everyone knows about Wisconsin.

Excellent point ! LSU recruits the Houston area just fine...and I'll wager we never see a Wisconsin kid based on a game at Lambeau !
Time for a little loyalty to be shown to the season ticket holders...a neutral site game every few years would be fine...but every year ?
IF, it's all about the $ why not "sell" some of our SEC home games to Atl.,Jerry World and Houston ????
I'm sure we'll all understand that reasoning as well..lol

I agree with THAT.

I disagree that it is about FEAR.

LSU fears no one.

I mean seriously, whats more impt for the program... Playing a meaningful game in a recruiting hot bed like Houston, or a stinker at home vs North Texas. What will do more for the program? So much butthurt about playing in diff cities . Bunch of whiny bitches.

LSU is 2-0 against Wisconsin played a home and home and LSU won both...1971 and 1972...Wisconsin came to Baton Rouge in 72...

Why not Wisconsin at home and Wisconsin in Camp Randall? We are playing them twice, neither in Tiger Stadium. According to Wisconsin, they wanted a home and home,

Because both teams make a ton of money at a neutral site. Not just the home team pulling in the huge profit.

Should LSU consider playing 2 neutral site games per year....I mean, the $ is great and the season ticket holders shouldn't mind giving up a "Towson" type home game for a TCU-like game in say...New Orleans ??

Why in the hell not? What exactly do you think th weather is like in October in Wisconsin?

LINK

I'm pretty sure we could all handle temps in the fricking 50's.

This is such a horeshit complaint when in comes to college teams. If we're talking the NFL in January, sure. Who wants to play in Green Bay in January? But Madison in October? C'mon...

Tell you what...I bet LSU players would fare better in Madison after September than guys from Wisky would fare in Baton Rouge in late August.

Camp Randall is uber intimidating. We cant possibly win there because LSU can't play intimidating venues because we're such wusses.

This, someone at LSU needs to address. If it's true, then I'm really fricking pissed. We're constantly told that the reason we have to play these neutral site games is because no one will come here. If it turns out that's true, but it's US (the administration that is) that balked at going, they need to answer for it.

No. It's not like we would be substituting an away game against Towson. And our schedule is tough enough.

I'd bet you good money a home-and-home with them if our AD didn't have to donate 35 million to the academic side. Thanks, Jindal <3

So you're upset athletics is giving money to education? You realize it's a school first right?
