I've had a browning for 18 years and never wanted/needed another deer round. It is picky on ammo but I shoot core loc 120gr. Love the round, never failed me.

I believe the 100 gr are too fast for deer, but the 120 is where it is at.

Not much if a deer hunter and don't know inch more about the .25-06 other than always hearing its a great deer round. I do have a .257 weatherby and that thing is mean when it comes to deer. It will reach out and touch them. I image the .25-06 isn't much different in that regard.
