Congratulations! You are the first human in history to say this.

Despite the thread, I'm actually fairly stoked as well. Probably the only game I'll get to go to this year.

I still don't understand why we can't get anyone to do a home and home. The Oklahoma one has to be rescheduled after setting it up 15 years in advance. Oklahoma has already found a good replacement for that slot, while we'll probably grab another crappy arse team, or neutral site it up some more.

We have deep talent in Louisiana,, and athletes out the wazzu. I can't believe nobody is even trying to take advantage of that.

That's easy for him to say after the fact.

It might have been fun to see those big ole mid-west corn fed boys in Tiger Stadium on a Saturday night in September.

Wasn't this 2014 game basically a done deal before Andersen was even hired, and the announcement was delayed until last year because of the issues that had to be worked out for 2016?

What the frick does it matter what the coach wanted? It's an AD decision.

Apparently wasn't the only thing he said. This tweet from a Wisconsin beat reporter:

#Badgers Andersen said he'd love if LSU games were home-and-home. Said it was clear early neutral-site was only route.

Fire Alleva??

Getting a game in Lambeau Field is better than a home and home. Once in a lifetime. Neutral site with TCU or North Carolina is dumb though.

An easy response, since the folks bitching about the home schedule tend to be purple-and-gold-glasses wearers who actually buy into the nonsense that other teams are "afraid" to play in Tiger Stadium. Sure, it's a great, and special, venue. But afraid to play there as part of a home and home? bullshite! It's at least as reasonable (which is to say, not very) to allege that what Alleva's doing is trying to drive the individual season ticket holders away so he can sell more, at higher prices, to corporate buyers.

I disagree with this statement. Lambeau may have a lot of history, but its NFL history. If I want to see a game there, it would have to be a Packers game. College football is meant for college campuses. Neutral site games don't really have the same feeling to me at all. If given a choice between Lambeau and Camp Randall or Reliant and Tiger Stadium for an LSU-Wisconsin matchup, I choose Camp Randall and Tiger Stadium all day, every day.

ESPN wielded more influence on this one than people think. It's made for tv and that's what ESPN wants and dictates.

Yeah. Another way the money grab is taking away from the college game.

I'd rather attend a game in Badger Stadium than Lambeau. It's just as much of a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Of course all these teams would. Easy for them to say, especially after the fact.. I much prefer this.

This

The college aspect of college football is dying.

Road trips to other college campuses to go support your team was a time honored tradition. It would've been really special for LSU fans to visit Madison, as it is a really fun atmosphere and a great college town. Seriously, one of the best.

I'm sure UW fans would've loved to come down to BR and experience all the flare and flavor Baton Rouge can offer that other Big 10 road trips can't. This also means money being spent by others in Baton Rouge.

Instead, we are in an NFL stadium, in a city and state that no team has an affiliation with, spending money in that same city and state with no affiliation.

An LSU/Wisconsin Home/Away series would've been huge. It's what college football was about. Nothing exciting about going to Auburn, Alabama, Arkansas, etc, away games in rotation every year

If you really believe that Wisconsin vs LSU in week one HAD to be played in Houston in order to be on the primetime stage you might be moron.

Well there it is.

I would have preferred Madison, but as consolation, I believe Madison is only about an hour away from Green Bay. I look forward to experienced both cities

So, the Wisconsin coach would have preferred a home & home? Let's look at thier non-conference schedule the last 5 years:

2013: UMass, Tennessee Tech, at Arizona State, BYU
2012: Northern Iowa, Oregon State, Utah State, UTEP
2011: UNLV, at Oregon State, Northern Illinois, South Dakota
2010: at UNLV, San Jose State, Arizona State, Austin Peay
2009: Northern Illinois, Fresno State, Wofford, at Hawaii

There is no one even close to LSU's caliber anywhere on that schedule. So, if there objection to a home and home, my guess is it came from the Wisconsin Athletic Department, not LSU.
