Just think of all the local businesses in BR that are going to get all that game day income.

Oh, wait...

I think recruiting aspect is overrated. We've recruited Texas for years, Houston isn't far, and we play tam u now every other year there. Friends and family can see them play. So as far as playing in Houston, I don't really see that as a factor to recruits in Houston. Plus we may not play there again any time soon either way. With kids leaving in 3 years the chances of them playing in Houston for lsu will be slim.

Talking about the recruiting aspect reminded me of something I heard during a game a few years ago. When Matt Stafford graduated from Highland Park in Dallas, he was the only person or one of just a few that applied to UGA from his HS. The next year the number of applicants from his HS was some ridiculous number. So, football does have effect in some instances. Not saying the game will directly influence recruits to come to LSU, but it may make even more TX kids start looking to come here.

quote:

Applications from students at sophomore quarterback Matthew Stafford's former high school to the University of Georgia are soaring. Nearly 20 percent of Highland Park High School's senior class -106 students - have applied to Georgia, according to Park Cities People. "Stafford has definitely increased the popularity of Georgia," student Matt Lewis, 17, told the publication. "Some people don't really want to go there on their own, but they apply because Stafford is there."

LSU has 1 full-time admission counselor that works in Dallas & 2 that work in Houston. LSU will put up 2-3 billboards in Houston a week or two preceding the Wisconsin game. These neutral site games have many stakeholders in mind and potential students are high up there.

This is before the TCU game last year (this is our Chancellor/President for you side walkers)

Well you are also taking away from all the local businesses that see a boost on gamedays.
It is not LSU's concern or job to make sure local business make money.

Ok then. But it is a concern for LSU to make money for the Texas economy by playing a game in Houston?

We will make less off the return trip ($2 million + still).

The added value in a neutral site vs a home and home ois not losing the future home gate. With this arrangement, LSU will make more money total than they would off a home and home with Wisconsin playing in BR and Camp Randall.

Even though I went all in this year with buying road games and season tickets, it will not be the normal MO.

If LSU doesn't do something to return the value to season ticket holders soon, we will not be renewing.
