I'm not arguing against him and saying don't draft him, when discussing these 3 its just a matter of preference.

He is a physical freak, but he's nearing 30 and has a good bit of mileage on him (2,000+ carries). Again not saying don't draft him but these are all things to consider when discussing the pros and cons of the top 3.

Damn Gyno, that post definitely makes me re-think my draft order at the top…i was going McCoy first overall but now Norv in his first year with AP could be scary...

AP IMO.

A much higher floor than JC and McCoy...just as much ceiling. Safer with no real question marks coming into the year.

Definitely would go McCoy in a league that has rushing yd bonuses. Otherwise, I'd go Charles in PPR

I'm cool lester, just the typical "man I hope I play in your leagues!!" comments are always quite gay. Arguments can easily be made for each guy to go #1, its not black and white just because you see it that way.

I was mocking those people.

I do think it's black and white though. Counting on another 1600 season is gonna be tough

If I were # 1, id probably go with Charles. For me, im at #4 and I am fairly confident that the 3 spot is taking Peyton and 1 or 2 is taking McCoy. So if 1 or 2 takes AP then I get Charles and im thrilled with that idea.

Now, my conundrum is what to do if AP and Forte fall to me. Where does one go with that?

I love McCoy and Charles, I just think Charles will get more touches. I think their floor is about the same with Charles having a bit more upside.

perhaps I'm over thinking it, but its just sort of a gut call here. Year 2 of kelly with Foles all season I'm just thinking this is where Lesean hits his peak season.

People keep pointing to sproles as someone who can hurt McCoy's touches, but Knile Davis in year 2 could be a bigger threat to steal touches to keep Jamaal fresh.

I think McCoy is worthy of going number 1. I prefer Charles slightly I'd be fine with either of those guys. Picking 2 this year is a good spot to be in.

Shady probably won't rush for 1600 yards and Charles probably won't get all those TDs.

I give the edge to Charles b/c the only thing that's changed with either back is the addition of Sproles in Philly. If I value players this close, i'll go with the one with fewer unknown variables.

It's personal preference though. Sometimes my decision will come down to who will be on TV more and who is more fun to watch, which is Shady in this situation.

Ah, the memories. Snagged him in the 13th round in 1999, then started him most of the season because Terrell Davis went out with an injury.

Back to present day.

His floor is 1,200 yards and 10 TDs and will probably be good for at least 50 balls through the air. AP is already raving about how Norv Turner is using him in the passing game I don't see how he can be consensus #1 for years and now that he is playing in an offense that will utilize his ability moreso than in the past, people are taking Charles and McCoy over him?

Gyno, I find your argument very persuasive. I also find Shady a very attractive player this year. I think Sproles will be the mix, but it won't hurt McCoy. The Eagles are going to run a gazillion plays, so there will be plenty of touches to go around.

I like Charles this year, too. He's never been one of my favorite players, but he is the Kansas City offense. There are so few teams that have a workhorse back, you want to grab one early if you have a chance. Charles, Peterson and Forte have no competition for touches. Add McCoy because he'll have workhorse numbers even if Sproles cuts into his touches. I don't think you can go wrong with any of them.

Who is the last player in your top six? Peyton Manning? Just wondering.
