13 was with lightning. 12 was on ps2.

13 was a truly terrible game that's for sure.
On my original ffx game file I have it where I can 2-3 hit Sin. It would be a one hit but he has to change forms.
My biggest problem is I never could get Wakka's ultimate weapon to spawn from blitzball. My second time through I got it on like my third tournament. That's when I got mad and stopped playing. Every once in a while I pull up my original save and try to get Wakka's weapon again. I can't best all the battle arena mobs because I can't max everyone out because I can't get that damn weapon. I'm getting angry thinking about it.

13 was pretty terrible in just about every aspect... I really did enjoy the combat system though. It's great end game/post game. Lots of variety & ways to go about things. But playing through the game to get to chapters 11-12 for endgame content is pretty much unbearable.

I played through the whole game to that point and just wanted the thing to end. Then it became an open world more-like-final-fantasy type game and I just didn't have the energy or care enough about the characters to continue on anymore. I haven't finished it and probably never will.

I know your hesitation over remakes, but the remaster is way better and has a lot of content that was excluded for the original US release.

The meta opinion is that it sucks
I disagree but it is what it is.
Did it have a few flaws? Sure but no games are perfect and it did have some good parts(Battle system/OST/Graphics/Paradigms/difficulty)
People bash it for the story and some of the characters than anything. The mythology(The gods/L'cie/Fal'cie/Focus) could've been better explained at the beginning.
The mythos/ultimania and the pre story helped.
XIII-2 wasn't great but LR was enjoyable.
FFXV has much more potential though imo.

FF13 is complete and udder rubbish.

XIII was utter garbage. I put a lot of time into it tried earnestly to beat it. I got to Godzilla with like 1000000000000 hit points and said frick it this is dumb. I liked the battle system, but the summons and paradigms and all that other shite sucked.

I did enjoy quite a bit myself. A lot of it is exaggerated as the game grows more infamous. Once 15 comes out, I'm sure it will all the sudden stop sucking.

I just think the game is one of those that isn't everyones style and that's fine.
The battle system in particular is it's strongest asset imo.

It'll be viewed like FF12 in a few years(it's trending that way kind of).
