Great movie. Clooney got on my nerves, but I saw it in IMAX and thought it was great.

Visual effects, ok

But plot and realism in a movie that is trying to be legitimate and believable

Should have at least had aliens come make an appearance if you're gonna get that outlandish with the plot.

I'm no astronaut, but I thought it was more realistic than sending oil drillers into space to stop an asteroid.

Like astronauts are smart enough to learn how to run a drill in a week.

Michael Bay would disagree with you.

No he wouldn't, that's why the oil drillers had to go and not just the astronauts.

Astronauts barely made an appearance in that movie. Affleck was driving that doom buggy like a champ. No astronauts were needed. They should have taught them to drive the damn space shuttle.

If Obama were to put oil drillers in charge of NASA, there could be peace in the Middle East.

It's something to behold in IMAX but not something I feel urged to fire up in my living room. Kind of like an orgasm, you're willing to say or feel anything during but totally lose interest afterwards.

I didn't realize that I had claimed that Armageddon was a realistic movie or anything more than a popcorn flick

At least it didn't try to take itself seriously and wasn't shooting to win an Oscar.

Gravity went for both and succeeded in both so I don't know what point you are trying to make.

7 Oscars and $720 million worldwide. I'd call that a success.

And I don't see the point you are trying to make... So $$$ automatically equate to quality?

No. But the 97% on RT, the 96/100 on MC, the "A" CinemaScore, and the awards and accolades it won over the course of its life do.

No.

So why throw it out there then?

Bc using that logic, I'm assuming you'd agree the likes of Justin Bieber and PSY are amazing musical artist too... You know since they made millions upon millions of dollars and had the most hits on youtube at their respective times.

Ah, he reads the IMDB in order to tell him what is good and isn't

I said to each his own in my very first post... I thought it was complete shite, as did the people who watched it with me.

Perception is reality. Does it really matter what they think?
