That's a staff issue, Id fire everyone of them.

May not even have a full staff in place yet, since he was only elected 30 days ago, compared to most new congresspersons having an average of about 60 days after election to organize a staff.

I think it's far more likely he was nervous about his first time asking questions in a House sub-committee, probably distracted and self-conscious, and instead of listening to previous questions and answers, was rehearsing his own questions in his mind, oblivious to the actual content being discussed.

Embarrassing yes, but it may well make him better at his job going forward. A big bite of humble pie right out of the gate is not always a bad thing in the long run.

I agree with Neal Boortz on that one. The dude is renowned for his extremely dry sense of humor, and even Boortz thinks he wasn't serious.

I don't know why you would RA that.
Seriously. A bloo bloo someone made a dumb generalization. Negrep their arse, but if making dumb generalizations was a bannable offense most threads here wouldn't get past 2 pages.

Also something is in the water in this Congressional seat, because it has produced nothing but dumbasses from both parties. Radel before this guy, Wexler before him.

I lived in Atlanta for a while and heard him discussing it on his radio show. No link.

So the "joke" is that he pretends with a straight face that two Indian-American government officials are actually Indian nationals? Funny stuff.

Also he is like, Andy Kaufman level committed to this bit, because he said this in a statement to USA Today:
quote:

The political novice, who was a businessman and college basketball player before running for office, apologized in a statement sent to our Gannett colleague, Ledyard King.

“I made a mistake in speaking before being fully briefed and I apologize. I’m a quick study, but in this case I shot an air ball,” Clawson said.
Or, you know, he's actually a cringe-worthy dumbass.

I think the OP was talking about the guy who said Guam was going to tip over.

About the Frosh congressman: I wonder there was a little rookie hazing going on. It would have been simple for somebody to nudge his elbow. but they let him ramble.
