Cool places on earth that most people probably don't know exist.

What you got?
I just came across the Naica Mine which contains the Crystal Cave Of Giants in Chihuahua, Mexico. The ghostly, transulent crystals have been measured up to 36 feet (11 meters) in height, weighing in at 55 tonnes. They make up the largest natural crystals ever discovered on Earth.

My backyard is pretty cool, and not many people know about it.

probably not as cool as superman's fortress of solitude but at least some can get to this one:
Jacob's Well in Wimberley, Texas.

Devils Kettle has always fascinated me. There isn't much to post a picture of. It's just a waterfall in Minnesota that has a big hole next it. Nobody has ever been able to figure out where the hole goes. Everything ever dropped in there hasn't been recovered. Seems like at some point science could prove where everything went.

sort of reminds me of this really cool "salt Cathedral" just north of Bogota, a real Cathedral carved out of an underground salt mine

Buddy of mine got to go down into those mines. They wear air conditioned suits and have very strict time limits on how long they can stay. I was extremely jealous.
