probably Hogan

once Hart got screwed he was gone.

He was probably going to leave soon anyway even if he had not been screwed, right?

The Screwjob.

On a long enough timeline, every babyface will turn heel, even the greatest.

The Montreal Screwjob to me, is the day Professional Wrestling let the marks see what was behind the curtain, warts and all.

Although I fell they fall about equal.

I never even knew about the Montreal Screw Job until years later. The real behind the scenes stuff meant nothin to me. I only care about what happens inside the squared circle. Hogan turning heel changed the face of wrestling forever.

Same here. Was the screw job even public knowledge when it occurred or everyone found out later on?

Hogan turning heel and it's not even close - established Nitro and shot it up in the ratings past Raw, Sting got his time off that he was wanting for years from carrying WCW on his shoulders for a decade and gave him a new character to work with, established one of the greatest factions in wrestling history, shot off a great 1.5 year story arc with Hogan/Sting in something we hadn't seen before with Hogan as a heel.

All the screwjob did was cement Bret leaving for WCW and fricking up the Sting/Hogan match THAT SHOULD HAVE ENDED CLEAN! WWE was fine without Bret (obviously), especially when they were entering the attitude era and Brets hard work clean cut personality wasn't going to mesh at all. Bret leaving opened the door for guys like Rock/Stone Cold to take some spotlight as well.

I was and still am a huge Bret Hart fan. I was a little kid when the screw job happened so it killed me. Good to see he and the WWF have reconciled

What little chance of a Cena heel turn probably died when Bryan went down. I guess when Reigns gets a push it could be a slight chance again, but even then I still have yet to see Reigns wrestle a legit match

They had their chance to turn him heel when he was feuding with The Rock. I was hoping that after Rock/Cena II that Cena would hit Rock with the belt. It would have been up there with Hogan's heel turn.

I'm gonna say the bigger deal to me was Hogan turning heel. I loved it!

But the Montreal Screwjob was the first piece of 'wrestling' that I noticed something different and felt real. Turned on Nitro the next morning... and voila!

Hogan goes heel.

The screw job really meant nothing. Hart was leaving anyways and kayfabe was all but done by that time in wrestling anyways.

It's easily Hogan turning Heel. It was and still is the biggest deal in wrestling history, much less between just those two.

Though I don't think it will ever happen honestly, A long term (2-3 year) John Cena heel turn could match that. I don't think Cena is capable of pulling off a legitimate heel turn like that, and I don't think the WWE has the balls to risk any changes with his character like that.

Screwjob definitely. Nobody knew wtf was going on, even in reality. This was one of the few real events where even the wrasslers and others backstage were confused.
